Part of the  preparation involves  planning  and research. Besides  planning the  outline,  you  would need  to consider  what kind  of  aids  you  wold  like  to use. Similarly, consider are they any  specific  quotes  or other  aids that you  would require? Depending on the kind  of  presentation your  research  would vary. If the  topic  is new  to  you, you  would need  to access books,  information from websites and  perhaps  interview  or talk  to experts from the  field. However, if  you are making a  presentation related to the  process you  work  for then  you  would need  to access relevant  data  from different teams  associated  with the  project.  You  would then need  to review them, extract  what is required  and  compile them in a  format  that makes comparison  easier - say a graphical representation, a table or  a  pie  diagram. Make notes  and create a concept map to check  how  your points tie together.
